INFRASTRUCTURE

When Bharat Petroleum Aviation Service was nationalised in 1976, we used to operate only in Palam and Santacruz airports. Since then our infrastructure has witnessed unprecedented growth and today we are equipped with world-class infrastructure through which we cater to fueling requirements of customers in 29 Airports. Of these 12 are international airports, 5 are considered as major international gateway airports, 7 domestic airports and 3 to meet exclusive Indian Air Force requirements, 1 at Gwalior, catering to both Indian Air Force and Civil Aircrafts and remaining small domestic airports, 1 at Bangalore where into plane service is carried out by a BPCL JV named Bharat Star Services Pvt. Ltd.

To meet the ever rising refueling needs of the customers, we have been continuously upgrading our infrastructure. A lot of technological developments have taken place. The analog electronic hardware based control system used in our aviation fuelling station has been replaced with a fully digital PLC based automated system that is integrated with SCADA. This new system facilitates online monitoring and control of all process parameters like tank level, product flow, line pressure, density, temperature and other critical parameters. A voice based alarm and annunciation system with automated solution and system generated interpretive solution which is based on self-diagnostic programs has been incorporated. We are equipped with automated MIS, back up and graphical history which helps in fault analysis of any part and also provides predictive equipment diagnosis. Even though AAI supplies power to us, we have our own super redundant power back up to supply fuel without any interruption.

We utilise award winning and patented unique technologies which have various safety features and protections like emergency fuel stop, bay identification from remote monitor, protection against floating suction failure etc. In line with the corporate commitment to safety, augmentation of Fire Hydrant Facilities is also being actively pursued.
